Brian Kane

Brian Kane is a seasoned energy executive with over 25 years of experience spanning advanced engineering, distributed power systems, and large-scale energy storage. Known for his pragmatic leadership and ability to align technical excellence with strategic vision, Brian has driven transformative growth across the clean energy and critical power sectors.

The first half of Brian's career was spent developing a systems-level understanding of reliability, performance, and risk management through submarine design and data center infrastructure deployment.

In 2011, Brian joined Bloom Energy, where he spent a decade leading sales and applications engineering through the company’s rapid scale-up from startup to public enterprise. He directed global teams supporting over $3.5 billion in project deployments, advancing distributed generation and fuel cell technologies for Fortune 100 and utility partners worldwide.

At Powin, Brian served as Chief Projects Officer and later as Chief Executive Officer, leading the company during a period of hypergrowth and strategic transition. In his role there, he was responsible for the planning, design, and commissioning of over 12.4 GWh of energy storage, establishing new regional organizations in EMEA and APAC, and integrating commercial, product, and delivery functions to enhance schedule reliability and fleet performance.

Throughout his career, Brian has contributed numerous articles and thought pieces on energy storage and utility grid evolution, emphasizing clean and renewable solutions  as the foundation of resilient, reliable, and rapid time-to-power solutions.
