Designed for safety,
built for communities

Our commitment to safety and emergency planning guides every phase of a project, from design and construction through operations and long-term ownership.
Planning to Power

Safety shapes every project

It's the foundation at every stage of development, from site selection and permitting, through engineering, construction, and operations. We believe the strongest projects combine thoughtful design, proven technology, disciplined operations, and transparent communication at every step.

Designed and built to best standards

Modern battery energy storage systems are designed with multiple independent layers of protection that work together to prevent, detect, isolate, and manage abnormal conditions. Every project is built in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local requirements, and evaluated using nationally recognized standards, including NFPA 855, UL 9540, and UL 9540A, which help guide system design, installation, testing, and emergency planning.

Multiple layers of protection

Safety and emergency planning is established through rigorous standards, careful planning, and close coordination with local officials and first responders. We design, build, and operate each facility to protect our employees, neighbors, and host communities throughout the life of the project.

Working with first responders

Emergency preparedness starts well before a project becomes operational. Elevate works with local fire departments and emergency responders throughout development to review site layouts, discuss emergency procedures, provide equipment-specific training, and conduct pre-operational site visits. Once in operation, Elevate provides regular training and maintains continued communications with first responders. We believe the strongest emergency response plans are developed together, long before they are ever needed and that partnership continues for the entire project lifecycle.

Continuous monitoring and long-term stewardship

Safety extends well beyond construction. Battery energy storage facilities are continuously monitored, routinely inspected, and maintained throughout their operating life. Operating procedures, emergency response plans, and maintenance programs are regularly reviewed and updated to reflect current best practices and project-specific operating experience. As a long-term owner and operator, Elevate is committed to the safe operation of every facility we develop.

Learning and Improving

Every major infrastructure industry evolves through experience, and battery energy storage is no different. Elevate applies those lessons to improve our projects and shares information openly with the communities we serve.
We don't just meet the standard. We set it.
